On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, a Philadelphia jury awarded plaintiff Lynn Hartman nearly $28 million after finding that drug makers Johnson & Johnson and Bayer AG had provided inadequate warnings of the bleeding dangers associated with the blood thinner Xarelto.
The case is the first bellweather Xarelto trial to take place in state court. Over 1,500 additional Xarelto cases are currently pending in Philadelphia state court. Plaintiff Hartman was represented by a team of lawyers, including Laura Feldman of Feldman & Pinto.
